Antonion Banderas gushed about her former stepdaughter Dakota Johnson after bagging the role of Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey." In other news, the model claimed that the film is not for the parents.
In a report from Yahoo, Antonio Banderas, who used to be married to Melanie Griffith, said that he came into their lives when Dakota Johnson was just four years old.
"And just to see her now, I'm so proud of her," he said. "She knows very well what this career is all about. She has seen it in her father, in her mother and I suppose me too, [and in her] grandmother, so she [has] a tradition in Hollywood."
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith got married in 1996 but announced that they have split last year.
He also said that he treasures the time being married to Melanie Griffith and watching Dakota Johnson grow.
"I'm not going to take 20 years of my life and put it in a hole. There are beautiful things there that I'm gonna keep. It's part of my life," he said.
But is he planning to line up for tickets when "Fifty Shades of Grey" opens to theaters on Valentine's Day?
"I don't think so. I probably will wait a little bit," he said.
And that's probably a good idea since Dakota Johnson doesn't want anybody from her family watching the film, either.
In the Daily Mail news, "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Dakota Johnson told Glamour: "I don't want my family to see it, because it's inappropriate. Or my brother's friends that I grew up with. Also there's part of me that's like, I don't want anyone to see this movie - just kidding."
Jamie Dornan said in previous interviews that the sex scenes won't be pornographic, although it's been reported in different news outlets that 20 minutes of "Fifty Shades of Grey's" total running time are sex scenes.
