The late popstar Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found drowning in the bathtub of her own Atlanta home last Saturday. According to the police report, her rumored husband, Nick Gordon was reportedly the one who found her while another friend called the police for help.
While his daughter was hospitalized, however, R&B singer Bobby Brown denied that her daughter was ever married to Gordon through his legal counsel.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the couple were never married despite the 21-year-old announcing on social media that they had tied the knot on January of 2014.
"To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon," Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown's lawyer announced in a press statement last Wednesday, adding that they are still "currently investigating" the situation.
Whitney Houston's daughter and her (unofficial) adopted son started dating each other shortly after the singer's death three years ago.
The publication's sources also claim that the Brown family has been adamant in keeping Gordon away from the iconic singer's daughter. Apparently the rift between the Houstons and Gordon had been going on for a long time already.
In fact, according to People, Houston's sister-in-law, Pat, issued a temporary restraining order on the 25-year-old last March because he "made threatening comments and posted photos of guns with the intention of making petitioner fearful for her personal safety."
Marion "Pat" Houston is acting as the executor for the trust fund that the legendary singer set up for her daughter.
Meanwhile, Fox News revealed that it was not Gordon who found the troubled young woman in her Georgia home. An attorney for 24-year-old Maxwell Lomas, claimed that it was Brown's friend and not Gordon who responded first.
"He immediately pulled her from the water and called 911 as well as alerting other people in the house," Holloway said. "He did whatever he could do to assist in resuscitative measures until first responders arrived."
Lomas has prior arrests for drug-related cases. However, his attorney insists that these charges were not connected to Whitney Houston's daughter drowning in a bathtub.
Meanwhile, Page Six reported that the sole heir to Houston's estate is already "brain dead," negating previous reports that she has been stabilized.
Her father is reportedly "taking it really hard."
