Its dimensions are at 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm, and has two weight classes at 437 grams (Wi-Fi), and 444 grams (3G/LTE). Meanwhile, the Nexus 7 is equipped with 7 inch LED-backlit IPS LCD that can render a lower resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels but has a better pixel density at 323 ppi. Its dimensions are 200 x 114 x 8.7 mm, and it also has two weight classes at 290 grams (Wi-Fi), and 299 grams (LTE). The Apple tablet has a scratch resistant glass for protection, while the Nexus 7 is equipped with the Corning Gorilla Glass.
The processor of the iPad Air 2 is a Triple Core clocked at 1.5 GHz, with an Apple A9X chipset. Its RAM capacity is at 2GB and its internal memory has three variants at 16, 64, and 128GB. Its software is the iOS 8.1, which can be upgraded to the iOS 8.1.3 version.
Meanwhile, the Nexus 7 is equipped with a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait, being paired up with a Snapdragon S4Pro chipset, and an Adreno 320 for graphics. It has two variants of internal memory at 16 and 32GB, while its RAM capacity is also 2GB. It runs on the Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to the v4.4.4 (KitKat), and will soon have v5.0 (Lollipop).
GSMArena stated that both tablets have 1.2MP front cameras, but the iPad Air 2 has a better 8MP rear camera, while the Nexus 7 is at 5MP. The Apple tablet's battery can last up to 10 hours, while the Nexus 7 has a non-removable Li-Ion 3950 mAh battery that last 9 hours.
The Google Nexus 7 16GB version cost around $220, while the iPad Air 2 is around $499.
