Fans are anticipating the fifth season of "Game of Thrones" and have been lapping up spoilers and news they can find. A supposed letter by George R. R. Martin was leaked in which he was quoted as saying that nobody is safe in the show.
Meanwhile, in other news, a London restaurant will carry the "Game of Thrones" theme this Valentine's Day but clientele is strictly screened.
According to Winter Is Coming site, the letter that the author sent to his agent in 1993 pitched a less expanded world of Westeros where the major factions were only Lannisters, Stakrs, Targayens and Dothrakis.
But George R. R. Martin confirmed in the letter what "Game of Thrones" fans already know: nobody is safe in the serie.s
"All three books will feature a complex mosaic of intercutting points of view among various of my large and diverse cast of players," the letter reads:. "The cast will not always remain the same. Old characters will die, and new ones will be introduced. Some of the fatalities will include sympathetic. . . characters.
"I want the reader to feel that no one is ever completely safe, not even the characters who seem to be the heroes. The suspense always ratchets up a notch when you know that any character can die at any time," the letter added.
George R. R. Martin said the major characters are Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Dany, Bran Stark and Tyrion Lannister. But they're not safe either, according to the "Game of Thrones" spoilers from Rolling Stone.
Meanwhile, Huffington Post reported "Game of Thrones" news that the Westeros-themed restaurant will have a very creative menu on Valentine's Day.
"Menu items have mostly been kept hush-hush," it said. "A poached veal tongue dish named 'The Lies of Tyrion Lannister and his Proclaimed Innocence' will be served."
"Sadly, if this is the first time you're hearing about the event, you probably won't be able to attend. To win tickets, you would have had to enter HBO's competition," the article noted.
"Game of Thrones" will air on HBO on April 12.
