While fans are waiting for more "Tom Clancy's The Division" release date updates, details of the new title's gameplay was recently divulged by its developers.

Ubisoft has recently revealed new details about the game in their Feb. 2015 Community Q&A. A lot has been shared including the reason why New York was picked to be the central location of the game, some notable features and even a clarification about zombies.

"There were a few things that in the end made us settle on New York. One thing was the environment itself, a complex city like New York was well suited to show the fragility of our society. It is also a city almost everyone who plays games knows of, or has a relationship to through other games, books and movies," Massive Entertainment IP Developer and Communications Exec Martin Hultberg shared about New York being chosen.

When it comes to coming across zombies in the game, Martin explained that that's really not their intention for the game.

"This being a Tom Clancy game means that we strive to be authentic. This is particularly important when we create the world and the various enemies and allies that populate it," he said.

Meanwhile, a notable game feature called "The Dark Zone" was also introduced by Ubisoft Asia and Nordic Studios Community Development Lead Antoine Emond.

"What we have with the Dark Zone is unique, exciting and suspenseful. I can't tell you more about the Dark Zone today, but stay tuned!" He said.

In a previous "Tom Clancy's The Division" release date update, however, a source revealed that the 2015 launch could be optimistic since developers are really experiencing major setbacks.

"We've been given increased resources, we're hiring lots at the moment and are given a lot of help from other Ubisoft teams which is going to be needed if we are to deliver a finished game by next fall," a source told GameReactor.

"Sadly, I still think that the date is a tad bit optimistic as we still don't have a functioning game and still have massive problems making our multiplayer component work at the concept stage."

"Tom Clancy's The Division" release date is reportedly slated for later this year.
