Mad Ram Software's arena FPS "Wickland" is finally out of Steam Early Access and you can get it with a 25% discount if you buy it right now.
Mad Ram Software's "Wickland" has been very popular among the beta testers at the Steam Early Access program and now that it is out of beta, Mad Ram Software promises that it is one arena FPS that you should definitely pick up.
The developers describe "Wickland" as "an indie arena shooter heavily inspired by classic FPS games of the 90's. Morph into eight deadly beasts and use their own unique abilities, blaze through maps at insane speed to pick up power-ups, and fight your friends or foes in classic maze-like arena maps, just like the good old days."
And players seemingly agree as most reviews of "Wickland" have been mostly positive.
User "Blindlight" reviewed the game and said, "Wickland is strictly oriented around competitive multiplayer dueling in the spirit of Quake; no single player campaign to be found here, although there may be bots eventually. The weapons are a crazy mix of unreal and quake, with an alternate fire mode for some interesting combos, but retaining the fundamental balance and simplicity of the quake arsenal. The game runs very nicely in the unreal engine, and they've incorporated a wall-jump movement mechanic that feels simple and unique compared to the manic bunnyhopping of some other games. The result is there's less tricks to learn and you can jump right into the dueling metagame, which is where Wickland really shines... Whether it's chess or martial arts or Quake, if you enjoy the intensity of competitive one-on-one sports, Wickland is for you."
