Lady Gaga news reported how the "Born This Way" singer's discoverer has won a lawsuit against the recording artist's former producer. According to a report from Billboard, the latter is required to give the songwriter $73 Million for "finding" the pop star.

The discoverer, Wendy Starland, was reportedly hired by Rob Fusari, who is known in the music industry as Grammy-winning record producer 8bit. Their joint search for the next big pop star would later pave the way for one of today's biggest names in the international music scene: Lady Gaga.

"It's incredibly validating," Wendy Starland said after the court sided with her on the case.

"It feels great to be acknowledged for my work in discovering and developing Lady Gaga."

"I knew that the truth was on my side and I felt fortunate that the jury was able to see that," she added.

The Lady Gaga news report recalled how Wendy Starland introduced the would-be pop diva to Rob Fusari back in 2005.

"Fusari asked me to find an artist under the age of 25 who could be the female equivalent to the lead singer of The Strokes," Wendy Starland explained.

"I had attended about 50 live performances and searched for countless hours online before finding an artist who fit the bill."

The producer specified that the discovery needed to be edgy and bold, and should be someone that people would not take their eyes off from.

"These were the specific characteristics of the 'Strokes girl' Fusari identified that he would need to approve before signing her to a production deal," the scout explained.

"I only brought Rob Fusari one artist for us to work with...and that artist became Lady Gaga."

As Lady Gaga's musical career skyrocketed, Wendy Fusari then detailed how Rob Fusari eventually altered their agreement.

"The original deal we made was in 2005," she said.

"Rob had made several promises to honor our agreement before attempting to alter it in late 2008 (or) early 2009."

"I was incredibly surprised when he did that," Wendy Fusari said.

The breach on their agreement led Wendy Fusari to formally file a legal case against Rob Fusari. Lady Gaga news reported how it took four years for a federal jury in Newark, New Jersey to side with Wendy Starland and award her approximately $7.3 million in damages.
