General Motors presented the 2017 Chevy Bolt Electric Vehicle concept at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. According to transportevolved.com, this promising EV can run 200 miles between charges costing approximately $30,000.

Reportedly, the 2017 Chevy Bolt Electric Vehicle's production was neither confirmed nor denied by GM. At the moment, the car company is still evaluating the program.

"Bolt EV Concept is just that - a concept," Annalisa Bluhm, GM spokeswoman told GreenCarReports as reported by transportevolved.com. "We're currently evaluating the vehicle program, but do not have any production announcements to make at this time."

While the GM has not released any official information about the EV yet, Reuters pointed to two supplier sources that articulated the company's plans of building the 2017 Chevy Bolt Electric Vehicle in October 2016 at a car plant in Detroit. The sources said that GM's target production for the Chevy Bolt is about 25,000 - 30,000 units per year.

According to thinkprogress.org, Bolt will feature a "10-inch dashboard touchscreen, the option of using a smartphone as a key, integrated ride-sharing management, and the ability to self-park: using a phone App."

"Incorporating automatic park-and-retrieval technology, owners will be able to exit the vehicle and tell Bolt EV to park itself while they run errands, then summon it to their location when they're done," Chevrolet stated in its website.

Chevrolet's website confirmed that a "Bolt Connect App" will provide drivers with extra-ordinary vehicle control. Aside from this, Bolt is packed with an advanced lithium-ion battery with DC fast-charging capability. It is said that an 80% charge can be reached in less than 45 minutes.

Promising as it may sound, 2017 Chevy Bolt Electric Vehicle could be "the first mass-market EV success" if the GM can deliver its goal according to one industry veteran.
