The Seahawks defeat by the Patriots was a spectacular sporting event. But Katy Perry's Super Bowl half time show was equally memorable when she made a grand entrance on a giant puppet tiger with the puppeteers moving her around the stage.
Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott and Perry's squadron of backup dancers reveled the Super Bowl crowd, while the players took a break from active play. The Patriots beat Seahawks 28-24 in full time in a game that could have swayed either way.
The U.S. singing sensation, swung through a plethora of recent hits in a 12-minute rendition that featured a performance by rapper Missy Elliott.
The Super Bowl play resumed after Perry sang "Firework" aptly coupled with a pyrotechnics display making the halftime show the best ever Super Bowl half-time show for Katy Perry fans.
The Guardian reported Katy Perry as delivering a "high-octane show," while The New York Times said Perry managed to navigate through a bunch of smashing melodies holding her own "in a performance that resisted bad mood." And USA Today lauded Perry's performance with the commentary "you had to be impressed with her spectacle." That holds true for all Super Bowl watchers "even if you weren't a fan of Perry's music," added the online newspaper.
A week after the stunning display of talent at the 12-minute half-time show, Katy let her presence known at the the 2015 Grammy's. She was introduced by a domestic violence survivor who reflected on love and humanity as a prelogue to her rendition of "By the Grace of God," making the star-studded attendees "'roar" before rising to their feet for a standing ovation.
She may not have won a Grammy this time around but she's taking the country by a storm, Katy Perry style.
