Uprise, formerly known as ESN, confirmed in its official website that Battlelog is coming soon for "Star Wars Battlefront." Battlelog provides gamers with a companion app that lets users "connect with friends, configure their loadout and even use the companion as an extended minimap while playing."
While others seem to be excited about the upcoming Battlelog feature, popular opinion in a Reddit debate according to segmentnext.com, revealed that most find the companion app annoying due to "the server joining mechanism."
Commenters expressed the dilemma of having Battlelog in connection to having slower Internet networks. They say that they will have to go through great deal of waiting before they can begin to play.
Reportedly, EA appears to have considered Battlelog as an integral part of "Star Wars Battlefront." Uprise encourages gamers to use the online social layer providing wide spans over desktop, mobile, tablet and game.
"Battlelog is the social layer of Battlefield. We've created a companion experience that spans over desktop, mobile, tablet and game. A companion experience that connects the Battlefield titles - and that enables you to keep in touch with your Battlefield friends, configure your loadout and even use the companion as an extended minimap while playing. Battlelog is used by millions of players every week - if you haven't already, check it out," the website stated.
"Star Wars Battlefront" is as Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, described it, is EA's first "major first-person shooter" for 2015. It will no longer operate as a third-person series. It is speculated that it may be caused by DICE's "unparalleled knowledge with the first person theme."
According to Breathe Cast, "Star Wars Battlefront" will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms and will coincide with JJ Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode 7" that premieres Holiday season of 2015. Electronic Arts announced its December release date via Twitter.
