The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching on Feb. 19 and rumors are flying that Ray Allen will join Lebron James in Cleveland while Mo Williams was shipped to Michael Jordan's Charlotte Hornets.
According to ESPN, Ray Allen is about to make his decision to go back to playing basketball after a few months of rest.
Among the suitors are Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks.
Reportedy, the Cavaliers still have one spot open for Ray Allen, who remains close with Lebron James and Mike Miller.
"It would be great to have a piece like that," Lebron James told reporters on Tuesday. "But that's up to him. This guy has done everything he needs to do in his career. He doesn't need to be pressured by anyone."
"We have roster spots open, but with him we'd be great, without him, we're going to be great as well. But it would be a great addition. We'll see what he does," the two-time MVP added.
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets added firepower to its roster with the addition of sharp-shooting Mo Williams, said Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
"Williams goes to the Hornets with guard Troy Daniels for veteran guard Gary Neal and a future second-round draft pick," he wrote. "Charlotte will send Minnesota a 2019 second-round pick that it owns via a 2014 trade with the Miami Heat."
Although already 32 years old, Mo Williams still proved that he could score as he averaged 12.2 points and 6.4 assists for the Minnesota Timberwolves. In fact, he scored 52 points against Indiana last month.
Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said in a statement: "This was a difficult decision because of what Mo brought to our team and the impact he had on our young guys. As a coach, you wanted to keep him because of his professionalism and understanding of what you wanted out of him as a player."
With the NBA trade deadline looming, expect more rumors to come out of the woodwork in the next few days.
