We all know that there will be a hybrid dinosaur in "Jurassic World" but there isn't any confirmation yet as to what the new creature would look like.
Some people thought it was a mutant freak, but director Colin Trevorrow revealed that it looks like a typical dinosaur.
"It doesn't have a snake's head or octopus tentacles. It's a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level," he told Slash Film. The hybrid dinosaur was originally called Diabolus Rex, but new reports reveal that its name has changed to Indominus Rex.
According to Nuke The Fridge, the name of the new hybrid dinosaur means "Untamable" or "Fierce King"; and it will be a crossbreed of the T-Rex, Velociraptor, cuttlefish, and a death adder. The website also reported that the Indominus Rex has human genes spliced into its DNA.
In the "Jurassic World" trailer, we heard Chris Pratt saying that the dinosaur that escaped is really smart so there's a huge possibility that he is referring to the Indominus Rex. Apart from that creature, we may see another hybrid dinosaur in the movie.
The new "Jurassic World" toy collection was recently revealed by Wind Designs and there's this weird looking creature that was included in the lineup. It is called a Stegoceratops, which is half Stegosaurus and half Triceratops.
"It just looks like Hasbro took the heads off one dinosaur and put them on the bodies of another, but we're still left wondering if we may see this giant lizard in Colin Trevorrow's upcoming film," Cinema Blend reported.
The director confirmed late last year that there will be a new creature in the movie.
"There are dinosaurs and there's the other-there's this thing that is not one of them, that is not of them," Trevorrow told E! Online.
When he said that there's only one creature that is different among other dinosaurs, could he be referring to the Indominus Rex or the Stegoceratops? We will have to wait until "Jurassic World" hits the theaters on June 12.
