After Apple's release of the iOS 8.1.3, a minor update with several bug fixes, a lot of buzz has been going around that the iOS 8.2 update will arrive in March. Following the March release, the iOS 8.3 will be reportedly unveiled in tandem with the Apple Watch.
The Cupertino, California firm is reportedly working on an iOS 8.4 update too. However, no confirmation has been made as of writing.
Two weeks since the release of the iOS 8.1.3, a review of the iPad mini 2 iOS 8.1.3 by tech analysts demonstrate how the current iOS 8.1.3 is doing by taking a closer look at the battery, app performance, connectivity and speed.
According to Gottabemobile.com, running 50 apps on the iPad mini with iOS 8.1.3 works well. Google Chrome, which sometimes causes problems on the iPhone does well on the iPad mini 2.
The battery life holds up well on the iOS 8.1.3. A test for battery performance revealed that the battery performs consistently without glitches even after a full day's use of LTE and WiFi to play video games and other applications.
Bugs don't seem to be a problem with iOS 8.1.3 update and it appears to be a stable update. Speed is not a problem for the iOS 8.1.3 on the iPad mini 2.
Apps such as "Asana, Slack, Spotify, SoundCloud, Google Maps, Dark Sky, Gmail, Hangouts, Waze, (and) GrubHub" seem to work better with iOS 8.1.3.
Connectivity is not a problem with the iPad Mini 2 after a host of blootooth devices were tested with iOS 8.1.3. AT&T 4G LTE also works just fine on the OS.
Speed is also not a problem with the iOS 8.1.3 running "smooth and buttery" on the iPad Mini 2. Folders open up right after they're tapped and apps open up quickly too with the iOS update. No slowdowns have been reported during testing by Gottabemobile's Adam Mills.
