Melanie Griffith remains adamant about not watching daughter Dakota Johnson in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
With the highly anticipated erotic film hitting the theaters, has she changed her mind?
Melanie Griffith was asked by reporters whether she will defy daughter Dakota Johnson's wishes for her to refrain from watching "Fifty Shades of Grey," the 57-year-old actress said:
"No! Would you want to see your child having sex like that?" she said. "Just regular sex, I couldn't do that. But the 'room of pain' sex? I definitely couldn't do that!"
Antonio Banderas' ex wife knows what she's talking about as she revealed that she had read the novels even before Dakota Johnson bagged the role of Anastasia Steele.
"You have to read. I read it was before she was cast in the movie," she said. "I was so happy for her when she called me. She goes, 'Well, I just got Fifty Shades of Grey!' I was like, 'Oh. My. God!'"
So having read the book means she has a good idea of what lays in wait for Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.
"She would be very uncomfortable if I saw it, and I would be very uncomfortable if I saw it so we would never be able to talk about it, so why would I see it? You know what I mean?" Melanie Griffith said.
In December last year, TMZ cameras chanced upon the former "Body Double" star while stepping out of Madeo.
"I was wondering are you interested in seeing the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie," the cameraman asked her. "Will you be seeing it?"
"No, I will not be seeing it," the 57-year-old actress said. "Well because my daughter doesn't want me to, and I don't think it would be appropriate"
Reports surrounding the "Fifty Shades of Grey" reveal that Dakota Johnson would be engaging in 20 minutes of sex scenes, so Melanie Griffith being cautious is understandable.
