Three years after Linsanity got the attention of the whole league, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin still feels like an outcast, as his name continues to be included in trade talks with the deadline just a few days from now.
According to Bleacher Report, Jeremy Lin suffered from inconsistency issues as well as a coach "who didn't know what to do with him" and "with a team built to lose."
Linsanity seems so long ago that Jeremy Lin has lost his spot in the Los Angeles Lakers, buried so deep in the bench that he would count himself lucky to earn some minutes. As his time on the court dwindled, so did his confidence.
"For the first time in three years, Lin is dealing with pangs of discomfort and uncertainty-the sort of feelings he thought he had long ago buried, just up the avenue from here, in that blissful wave known as Linsanity," the article noted.
Meanwhile, Sports World said that Jeremy Lin continues to be included in trade talks, but the Los Angeles Lakers could just let him walk this summer.
"Lin's money is coming off the books if he is not traded, as his contract will be up and that gives the Lakers more relief heading into the summer," it said.
Although the team would like to send Linsanity somewhere else for some nice pieces, "so far the market has not been hot for him and that likely has to do with the fact that his expiring contract is a high number."
The Bleacher Report said that Jeremy Lin could still prove to be a nice addition to a contending team as he averagse 10.4 points per game and a career clip of .374 from three as well as 4.6 assists in limited minutes. Of course, those are a far cry from what he averaged during the Linsanity era in New York.
