Scott Ian, the guitarist of thrash metal band Anthrax, will be appearing in a cameo in the latter half of AMC's zombie apocalypse drama TV series. The said episode will air on Sunday, March 1, according to "Walking Dead" season 5 rumors.

The musician also featured his transformation into a walker in an episode of "Scott Ian's Bloodworks," his show for Nerdist.com.

It is not Ian's first time to play a part in "Walking Dead." In 2011, he played a part in a webisode for the zombie apocalypse show.

"I know Greg Nicotero ('The Walking Dead' make-up artist and producer)," the thrash metal guitarist shared about how he ended up making an appearance in the show.

"We have a mutual friend, Kirk [Hammett] from Metallica. I met Greg as far back as the late '80s through Kirk because Kirk's a big collector of horror memorabilia. So I'd gone to the set of the webisodes here in Los Angeles, and got to get made up as a zombie," he said, giving light to the "Walking Dead" season 5 rumors.

"The Rock Show" host was also asked why metal guys are particular to horror."They've always gone hand in hand. Metal guys are huge nerds," he laughed.

"A good percentage of [us] are either horror or sci-fi or comic book or fantasy nerds. So, all of a sudden if you have some disposable income, you're like, 'Wow, I can actually buy that zombie head from that movie,'" the "Damned Things" guitarist shared further, according to Blabbermouth.

He also spoke in a separate interview with Nerdist about his favorite all-time horror make-up moments. He shared, "The first thing to pop into my mind is when Tom Savini gets torn apart in 'Dawn Of The Dead'."

"That scared me as a kid and I guess you could kinda say it stayed with me in a good way. The scene in 'Scanners' when his head blows up, that's a classic. Anything in 'Evil Dead' or 'Evil Dead 2'. I just watched 'Drive' last week and that scene where she gets her head blown off is straight out of an '80s horror movie."

"The movie's not necessarily slow, but very Michael Mann, '80s kinda pacing, very moody and all that - and then all of a sudden that hotel-room scene happens and you're just, like, 'Holy crap!' and then from there it's just 100 miles an hour. I was blown away with that movie," Ian concluded.

Watch out for mroe "Walking Dead" season 5 rumors which will be published here as they come along.
