Latest "Aquaman" casting rumors confirmed that Jason Momoa is playing the role of Arthur Curry, as the "Game of Thrones" actor talked about playing the titular role in the superhero film.
At the Sundance Film Festival, the actor answered some questions about playing "Aquaman." He also addressed the issue of the casting leak.
Apparently, no one was supposed to know about him being part of the film until 2016 but persistent "Aquaman" casting rumors forced producers to make a confirmation.
"Last year, when I was on this panel I was like eating chicken breasts and in training when I wasn't supposed to talk about anything," the "Game of Thrones" star revealed in a report by Blastr.
"I wasn't supposed to say anything until 2016. So I told a bunch of people that they could punch me in the face if I was on it, so I'm going to get hit a couple times. But they finally released it. I was supposed to keep it a secret for three years."
The 35-year-old actor was also asked about what fans of the comic book can expect from "Aquaman."
"Well, things are going to be a little different," he stated. "When I first went in I met with Zack (Snyder). His idea is pretty amazing. When I went in, he told me ... my jaw kind of dropped."
"My jaw doesn't normally drop," he continued. "What he has planned for the DC world and for 'Aquaman' is something (else). I think I was brought on for a certain reason and they got some really cool plans for him. I'm really excited for everyone to see it."
Zach Snyder has been tapped to shepherd the DC Universe flicks for WB. The "300" director will also be producing upcoming DC films and directing "Batman V Superman." He will also be helming "Man of Steel 2," as well as "Justice League."
The DC superhero film is set to hit cinemas on July 27, 2018. Until then, this corner will keep posting more "Aquaman" casting rumors when they come in.
