Newlywed Cameron Diaz was voted the worst actress for her movies "Sex Tape" and "The Other Woman." As if that's not enough, she's also being hounded by criticisms following her jewish wedding to Benji Madden.
In a report from the UK's Guardian, the 42-year-old actress was the big winner at the Golden Raspberry Awards, or more popularly known as the Razzies, over the weekend.
"Diaz earned the title for her performances in the comedies 'The Other Woman,' in which a wife and two mistresses of the same man team up to make his life miserable, and 'Sex Tape,' where a couple accidentally releases their private performance to the cloud," the publication said.
According to Radio Times, the Razzies is like the anti-Oscars.
The big winners-who are either brave or stupid enough to show up-will get a berry trophy, spray-painted cheaply, worth just $4.97. One of the bigger stars to turn up at the Razzie's was Halle Berry who even gave a speech in 2005 and she thanked those who hired her for "Catwoman" which she described as a "Godawful movie."
Apart from her Raspberry awards, Cameron Diaz's wedding to Benji Madden was also perceived as an insult to Jewish culture.
Elissa Strauss, who writes about "contemporary Jewish life and culture" for Forward.com, noted that the wedding ceremony-where Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden exchanged vows under a chuppah and smashed the glass-was seen as a "real trivialization of our traditions and rituals."
"The fact is, the conversations I had weren't really about Diaz, Madden or Brady; they were about us, Jew-ish Jews, and whether we are also guilty of the separation between ritual and tradition and, if so, whether that matters," she wrote.
Us Weekly reported that the Jewish wedding ceremony between Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz in her mansion was planned by Yifat Oren and Stefanie cove.
