Although Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s reality television show has been canceled, the 9-year-old pageant girl is now making headlines for her health.
During a taping of “The Doctors,” experts have reportedly warned that they are in a “fight to save her life” because the former reality television star is “obese,” according to Radar Online.
Dr. Travis Stork and his co-hosts reportedly expressed their concern for the 4’6” girl, who weighs 125 pounds.
“[Honey Boo Boo] is at risk for a myriad of life threatening diseases as a direct result of the poor food choices and lack of exercise modeled in the Thompson’s home,” a rep for the show told the entertainment website.
The show is reportedly partnering with a local nutritionist near where the family lives in order to implement a more age-appropriate diet for Honey Boo Boo. In the course of the taping, Honey Boo Boo’s mom, Mama June, reportedly took “no responsibility” for her daughter’s alarming weight, according to Access Hollywood, which attended the taping of the show.
The panel of “The Doctors” will reportedly be checking in on Honey Boo Boo’s progress over the next few months.
There has been some conflict within Honey Boo Boo’s family as Mama June and Sugar Bear have reportedly officially called it quits, according to The Inquisitr. Mama June and Sugar Bear had reportedly split earlier in 2014 as well when the reality television mom accused him of cheating on her with women he met via online dating sites.
After the former couple’s split, news surfaced that Mama June had reportedly rekindled her romance with convicted child sex offender Mark McDaniel. McDaniel reportedly sexually assaulted Mama June’s oldest daughter, Anna, when she was eight-years-old.
Mama June reportedly purchased a house in Georgia to live with her three younger daughters while Sugar Bear is moving into a trailer he rented with his brother. Mama June has reportedly stated that she’ll be giving Sugar Bear a break on child support because she doesn’t need it.
