I Heard It Through The Grapevine

On February 23, former MBLAQ member-turned-actor Lee Joon shared his feelings about sex education and his upcoming role in “I Heard It Through The Grapevine.” During a press conference held at the building for SBS in Mokdong, he spoke about the correlation of sex education and his role as a young father in his new drama. His responses to the discussion were published in a report by the Korean outlet, Enews.

When asked about his feelings on sex education, he said, “In middle school, we received sex education once a week through Gu Sung Ae′s videos. The videos had a huge influence on me.”

Lee then went on to explain his position on sex education and their impact on students. He said, “I think the sex education I received then was very important. I′m sure students are doing it now, but I think teens need to be educated really well about sex.

He portrays Han In Sang, an 18-year-old heir who maintains a sheltered lifestyle of privilege. His complacency is upended when he falls in love with Seo Bom (Go Ah Sung), a poor girl who attends a specialized English camp. The star-crossed lovers meet at the camp and develop a relationship. The innocent teens have sexual intercourse but experience problems with their method of contraceptive which leads to an unplanned pregnancy.

The actor is not opposed to portraying controversial roles. He received praise for his portrayal of Oh Young, an exploited aspiring actor, in the 2013 film “Rough Play.” In addition to his singing career, he has won over K-Drama audiences with his roles in “Gap Dong” and “Mr. Baek.” In 2015, he made a cameo appearance as Fama, a scandalized idol, in “Pinocchio.”

“I Heard It Through The Grapevine”, which was previously referred to as "I Heard Some Rumor," is the first drama role since the former idol departed from J.Tune Camp. He is currently signed with Prain TPC.

“I Heard It Through The Grapevine” premiered on February 23. The Monday-Tuesday drama airs on SBS in the 9:55 p.m. KST time slot previously occupied by the critically acclaimed series “Punch.”
