'Silent Hills' Update: Release Date Allegedly Set On Halloween 2016 For The PS4, Xbox One, And PC As Hideo Kojima Hints Fox Engine And Open-World Gameplay For The Survival Horror Game!

Good news gamers as new updates for the upcoming Silent Hill video game, "Silent Hills" have been revealed regarding its release date and development.

Metal Gear game series creator Hideo Kojima revealed new game details on "Silent Hills" as he claims the new title will be very unique and different previous games, because the players can choose between first-person and third-person gameplay during an interview with WhatIfGaming.

"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only," Kojima said to WhatIfGaming.

Hideo Kojima further adds,"Either way, we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely 2016, lots of time left."

Now that Kojima confirmed Silent Hills will launch on 2016. The question in everybody mind is, what month will the game be released?

According to Venture Capital Post, Silent Hills' release date is allegedly set on Halloween 2016, which is most likely in October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for the PC. It makes perfect sense since many gamers were frigthened by the demo version of the game a.k.a. the P.T. Demo due to its disturbing and eerie gameplay sequences.

Venture Capital Post adds that Hideo Kojima will utilize the Fox game engine on Silent Hills which he used in the Metal Gear Solid game series, and he revealed that the game will have an open-world gameplay experience similar to Grand Theft Auto, Watch Dogs, and many more.

"All I can say is Fox Engine is meant for open world. I cannot discuss more on the game design itself in detail yet," Kojima said.

However, Segment Next posted a the Silent Hills trailer which features the Unreal Engine 4.

The Unreal Engine 4 has been utilized for upcoming video game titles such as Tekken 7, Dead Island 2, and Kingdom Hearts 3.

Segment Next next further adds that Kojima and his team are considering an episodic launch of the game, and are currently looking into how different television series were scheduled and released. However, he did clarify that this was only one of the considerations they were making for Silent Hill and it didn't mean that a decision had been taken.

The Christian Post reports that "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus has express his excitement in working on the game with Kojima, and his co-producer Guillermo Del Toro.

"I'm super excited to be a part of Silent Hills. Both those guys are geniuses at what they do. We haven't shot the 'heavy stuff' yet", Reedus said.
