The "Overwatch" release date could be delayed to 2016 as admitted by Senior Executives at Activision Blizzard.
IGN reported that while the devs of "Overwatch" want the "Overwatch" release date to happen this year, Senior Executives over at Activision Blizzard are not optimistic about a 2015 launch and they believe that the game could be delayed to 2016.
"...developers are allegedly pushing for Overwatch to release this year, but senior executives are skeptical that it will release before 2016," wrote IGN.
However, it should be noted that the "Overwatch" open beta release date is still set for 2015.
VG 24/7 previously reported that while the "Overwatch" release date hasn't been officially set by Blizzard, the open beta is still on for 2015 and that a console port of the game isn't being considered by Blizzard at the moment.
"'Overwatch' will enter beta in 2015, with no release date as of yet. The beta will have more content than the build shown at BlizzCon, and Blizzard is not talking about a console port just yet," wrote VG 24/7.
Meanwhile, Christian Today has reported that while the pay-model for the game hasn't yet been decided by Blizzard, "Overwatch" would be available for free initially.
"Yahoo! Finance Contributor Tae Kim cited an unnamed insider from Blizzard Activision saying that the developers are considering whether the new game would be a completely free-to-play or an expansion-based game. However, the insider said that although the developers are working on the final pay model, players will get the game for free initially," wrote Christian Today.
