Bobbi Kristina has been on life support since she was found unresponsive last Jan. 31.

According to People, Bobby Brown's daughter to the late Whitney Houston continues to be unconscious until now.

Reportedly, the extent of Bobbi Kristina's injuries is not yet known. Recent medical resolution for the patient is to discontinue giving the medicine that keeps her in coma in the hopes of getting a different response.

People asked Dr. Subhashini Ramesh, a professor of NeuroCritical Care at Georgia Regents University, about reasons for weaning medication.

"They take them off a medically induced coma for two reasons - because the underlying problem has improved, or to simply get a sense of what the patient is able to do for themselves," Dr. Ramesh explained.

When asked about the removal of Bobbi Kristina's breathing tube replaced by placing a hole in her throat, the medical expert said that it may indicate "positive news."

"Obviously, she did not meet the criteria for brain death if she underwent a tracheostomy," Dr. Ramesh told People. "She still could have a devastating injury, though."

The publication stressed that Dr. Ramesh is not included in the medical team treating Bobbi Kristina.

CNN has previously reported that this move is part of slowly lifting Bobbi Kristina from coma.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent, said that it is a standard procedure that will lower the risk of infection in Bobby Brown's daughter. "This is an indication that the patient will need this for weeks and months to come, as opposed to hours and days," said Dr. Gupta.

Bobbi Kristina's family is reportedly hoping for significant changes in her condition soon while criminal investigation is currently being conducted by the Roswell police in relation to what happened to Bobby Brown's daughter.

"We are leaving the investigation in the hands of the authorities," Bobbi Kristina's family member said. "Our focus has always been Bobbi Kristina's health and recovery. That's all that matters to us right now."
