Good news gamers as new updates for Square Enix's action-RPG crossover game "Kingdom Hearts 3," as the third installment, is rumored to have new characters and new gameplay details.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, Square Enix will likely add an online co-op features in the "Kingdom Hearts 3" as the website hints that this could happen due to Square Enix job opening list in its official website.

“In charge of general technical assistance (workflow construction, selection of middleware etc) in Implementing the high quality graphic expression or Kingdom Hearts III. In charge of construction duties for a shader on the game engine for nature representations (water, rain, snow etc) and special effects (magic etc) etc, constantly online games,” according to Square Enix.

An interesting idea for Square Enix since the "Kingdom Hearts" game franchise never had an online gameplay, and "Kingdom Hearts 3" could be the first game to have an online game mode.

Attack of the Fanboy quoted that "The Kingdom Hearts games have mainly only been single player experiences. It’ll be interesting if an online co-op mode will be added to Kingdom Hearts III. One player could be Sora, while the other two players could be Donald Duck and Goofy."

"An online multiplayer mode for Kingdom Hearts III could be a possibility, although this will be a new territory for the series. Online multiplayer isn’t really a mode that suits the RPG genre though. In either case, we will just have to wait and see what Kingdom Hearts III conjures up whenever it comes out," Attack of the Fanboy reports.

MOVIEPILOT reported before that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely have other playable characters, aside from Sora which include Rikku, Lea, Donald, and Goofy. Perhaps the job opening from Square Enix was really meant for "Kingdom Hearts 3's" development seeing that fans of series are opened to the idea of other playable characters.

Speaking of characters, several rumors are making rounds that new Disney and "Final Fantasy" characters will be added to the game.

According to CrossMaps, the rumored list of Disney characters joining the game includes "Snow White and the seven dwarfs," "Peter Pan," "Mulan," "Tarzan," "Simba," and "Captain Jack Sparrow," while savecontinue.com reportedly claimed that "Final Fantasy" characters Noctis from "FFXV," Balthier and Fran from "FFXII," and the Warrior of Light from "Final Fantasy" will join the third installment.

It is worth mentioning that "Kingdom Hearts 3" co-producer Tai Yasue was opened to the idea of having Star Wars and Marvel characters and worlds in the game, since Disney owns the rights of both franchises.

“Well, yeah. They’re all under consideration,” Yasue said. “Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds. There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose,” Kotaku reports.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is tentatively set on Dec. 31, 2015 by retailing website Amazon.com, but due the PlayStation Blog's official game list, "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not launch this year, and it will probably be released sometime in 2016.
