Nick Young defended girlfriend Iggy Azalea over the snarky comments made by ESPN anchor Robert Flores regarding the "Fancy" singer's contribution to hip hop, or lack thereof.
According to NY Post, the whole controversy started when the anchor talked about Iggy Azalea's tweet about her boyfriend being scared of dolphins during his "What Did We Learn" segment on SportsCenter.
"And what did we learn? We learned that according to the Lakers' Nick Young, a dolphin recently tried to kill him. So, Nick, while dolphins are trying to kill you, your girlfriend is trying to kill hip-hop. Let's call it even, OK?" Flores deadpanned.
About two weeks ago, Nick Young told reporters a funny anecdote about a dolphin while vacationing in Cabo. He said he "was playing with everybody else, doing what dolphins do - the 'ack ack' and all that. It was my time to ride the dolphin. For some reason, he took me all the way to the bottom. He was trying to drown me. But I saw it happening so I jumped out of the water and took off the little life vest and threw off my little water shoes and stayed outside."
Swaggy P didn't like that one bit.
In a series of tweets, which he tagged Robert Flores, he likened ESPN to BET for commenting on people's relationships.
"Its cool to talk about me all day any day I find with that, I can take a joke .. That what I do joke, but I didn't see the point of that," Nick Young wrote.
"@RoFloESPN you job is to talk about sports not what me and my chick got going on," he added.
"@RoFloESPN so off the fact you that was cool to say, don't sit right with me so we got a problem," he continued.
"@RoFloESPN I'm pretty sure we going to run into each other soon."
Robert Flores remained silent amid the Nick Young Twitter blast over his girlfriend Iggy Azalea.
