The BlackBerry has officially announced its new flagship the BlackBerry Leap, a budget mid-range device with quality specs and features.
According to GSM Arena, the BlackBerry Leap has unveiled by the company at the MWC press conference in Barcelona, in which, it is expected to launch April with a contract fee price of $275.
As for the detailed specs of BlackBerry Leap, according to the BlackBerry official website, the device has a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 at 294 ppi.
Under the hood of BlackBerry Leap, it runs on a Qualcomm MSM 8960 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with a 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB flash and expandable memory via hot swappable MicroSD memory card of up to 128 GB.
In terms of the operating system, the device runs on the BlackBerry 10 OS with a BlackBerry Blend software that allows to bring the power of the smartphone to the tablet or a computer. It also has a BlackBerry Link software for the computer to allow synchronization of media and data.
Moreover, the BlackBerry Leap has a 2MP front camera with a 720p HD video recording and 3x digital zoom while its rear camera boasts 8 megapixel. In terms of the features being offered, it has video image stabilization, 5x digital zoom, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, 2DOF video stabilization, flash and touch to focus.
The BlackBerry Leap has a 2,800 mAh battery that offers 25 hours battery life.
The device features a BlackBerry keyboard that allows the users to type accurately and fast on a touchscreen keyboard. The BlackBerry Keyboard offers effortless typing experience with a personalized next-word suggestions.
The BlackBerry Leap also features support for anti-malware protection and encryption.
