HTC Unveils Grip Along With One M9 And VR Headset; Fitness Tracker Available For Both Android And iOS

The HTC unveiled the Grip along with One M9 smartphone and VR headset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 1 Sunday, News Everyday reported.

The HTC Grip is catered primarily to the serious athlete rather than the occasional exerciser. The wearable has launched in partnership with Under Armour, an American company that manufactures accessories as well as sports clothing.

The HTC Grip has a 1.8-inch curved touch PMOLED display and a 32 x 160 pixel resolution at 90 ppi. The fitness tracker has 16 MB flash or 8 MN SRAM with sensors such sensor hub, G sensor (2-16g), gyro and compass.

The wearable is equipped with 100 mAh battery that can last for five hours with GPS while two and five days non-sport.

Furthermore, the HTC Grip is capable of recording different types of workouts, which includes cycling, running, weight training and gym session. The device also has the capability of recording speed, distance and calories burn.

The fitness tracker can also work as a sleep monitor, which monitors and records the sleep activity of the users and encourages them to develop a sound sleep patterns.

Moreover, the HTC Grip is compatible with both iOS and Android smartphone with an integrated GPS so the user can leave the smartphone behind. With the said feature, users can receive notifications, view and can respond to messages.

Another interesting feature that the device offer is that it is IPS57 certified. It is a waterproof wearable and can last underwater up to one meter for 30 minutes.

HTC Grip will be available for $199 at HTC website this spring and other retailers such Under Armour, AT&T, Walmart, Sports Authority and more.
