Jill Duggar's husband Derrick Dillard has been causing firestorm online due to alleged animal cruelty. And PETA is demanding an apology from the "19 Kids and Counting" reality star.

According to E! Online, the organization is asking Derick Dillard to publicly apologize for the act.

"Might doesn't make right, but that's the message Derick Dillard sent to scores of impressionable young children," Sarah Withrow King, director of Christian Outreach and Engagement, said.

"PETA is asking him to apologize publicly for his actions and remind his followers that Jesus' command to 'do unto others' includes all of God's creatures," she added.

Jill Duggar's husband posted a video in his Instagram five days ago riding a sled that has been pushed by Ben Seewald to the direction of an unsuspecting cat.

"Sledding with friends and family at the Duggar home #smallestsled," Derick captioned the clip.

Reportedly, the feline did not appear to be hurt but E! Online noted, "commenters were quick to point out that the cat was almost certainly scared by the unnecessary collision."

"Deliberately lining yourself up to slide directly into the cat is not something 'god' would want you to do," an Instagram user wrote as reported by E! Online. "And the horrible shrieks of laughter from your 'god-loving' family are just as bad. Hope you won't teach your children to treat animals like this."

According to International Business Times, Jill Duggar's husband doesn't seem to be disturbed by the criticisms. Hours after posting the controversial clip, "19 Kids and Counting" cast Derick Dillard shared a snapshot of himself holding a family friend's new born.

"So sweet finally getting to meet baby Jesiah yesterday!" he wrote.

Despite a lot of negative reaction from the public, TLC declined to comment about the issue concerning one of its cast members for "19 Kids and Counting."

Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard, who got married last year, are expecting their first baby this month.
