Looks like a good news for UFC fans as Anderson Silva revealed his intention to fight Nick Diaz once again.
Silva denied claims that he used performance-enhancing drugs before his fight with Diaz in the wake of strong rumors swirling about the MMA fighter will already admit his use of steroids for therapy.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, the Brazilian mixed martial artist said he did not use performance enhancing drugs to give him an edge in the octagon. Silva added, he is genuinely shocked he failed the drug tests.
Talking about his two failed drug tests, Silva said he was surprised when his manager called him and informed him that he had to go to the test for the commission. Realizing how bad this make him look, Silva said, "I think this is bad for [the] sport. This is so bad for me and my life."
According to MMA Weekly, Silva indicated that the treatment for leg injury may be behind his positive drug test.
Silva is scheduled to meet with the Nevada Athletic Commission for a hearing; however the date is yet to be finalized. Apparently, Silva will open up and tell his side of the story so that the commission can decide on the matter and then determine if he will be sanctioned or not. MMA Weekly, however explained that it's unlikely that Silva will be able to continue fighting without being penalized for his positive drug tests.
According to Fight Of The Night, Silva is adamant that he took nothing that would affect his performance during his UFC 183 fight against Diaz. The former UFC Middleweight Champion revealed his wish to fight again and it looks like he has his sights set on fighting Diaz once more.
According to TMZ, Anderson said he wants a rematch with Nick Diaz so that he could prove his victory is legit. Silva said, once commission say done, he wants to go back to fight and have the rematch with Nick when all this is done.
Silva tested positive for banned anabolic steroids, Drostanolone and Androstane after his fight with Diaz in an out-of-competition drug screening conducted on Jan. 9. Silva again tested positive for Drostanolone in a fight night drug test.
While the commission investigates the case, Silva is currently under temporary suspension.
