"Insurgent" star Ansel Elgort joked that he can sub in for Theo James during a kissing scene with Shailene Woodley. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old actor admitted that it was weird playing both lover and brother to his co-star in "The Fault In Our Stars"

"I asked Theo if it was alright [to kiss Shailene because] he wasn't feeling well," Ansel Elgort told reporters during the press tour for "Insurgent."

"I said, 'Listen, I've done it before,' and guys that do the visual effects in this movie are good, so they could have easily changed our bodies and it would have been cool," he quipped per People.

Hypable noted that the press tour for "Insurgent" took on a bizarre turn when a reporter asked Ansel Elgort whether it was weird playing lovers and siblings in "The Fault in Our Stars" and the "Divergent" sequel.

According to the website, Ansel Elgort is tired about answering the same question during the press tour for "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Stars" last year.

"When Ansel was cast as Hazel's love interest Gus in 'The Fault in Our Stars,' people immediately assumed it'd be creepy to watch Ansel and Shailene go from playing brother and sister in 'Divergent' to cutesy-awkward sex partners in Fault. The question was being posed to both actors non-stop during the press tours of both films," the website noted.

On Friday's press conference for "Insurgent" in LA, Ansel Elgort was asked the same question and the actor gave a slow clap in sarcasm.

"I was so excited because last time at the [Divergent] press junket my joke was that that was the only question I got asked, so you've kicked off the second press junket and now I'm going to have a fury of that question," he said.

"It was definitely really weird, I don't know how we did it, but we pulled it off somehow. We're happy that somehow it works," Ansel Elgort said, and the "Insurgent" actor delivered the statement in sarcasm, according to Hypable.
