Lee Dong Gun says his character in the weekend drama "Super Daddy Yeol" is very much like his real personality.

His character Han Yeol is the rehabilitation coach of a major league baseball team. Lee Dong Gun describes Han Yeol as a grumpy slob.

"He is very outdated, unrefined and simple-mined, which is actually similar to my real personality," said Lee at a press conference for the drama. "I enjoy wearing sweatpants."

Lee Dong Gun said that although he does like sports in real life, he did have to brush up on his sports rehab skills.

"I like sports and I am aware that rehabilitation is such a strenuous process requiring painful, highly repetitive exercises in order to repair an injury," he said.

Fans may find it difficult to believe that the actor who played the chic news anchor in "Marry Him If You Dare" is a real-life slob. For most of his 16-year-career the actor has looked beautifully groomed and stylish.

And the single actor's character in "Super Daddy Yeol" is not just a coach and a slob. He is the perfect choice to become the daddy of Lee Rae, played by child actor Cha Sa Rang.

"Super Daddy Yeol" is a drama about a woman who learns she is going to die and has to find a dad for her 9-year-old daughter. Lee Yu Ri plays Chae Mi Rae, a doctor and single mother diagnosed with a fatal cancer. She wants to find a father for her child and runs into her ex-boyfriend Han Yeol.

He has been single for the last 10 years.

"Chae Mi Rae is a calculating character, but when it comes to her child, she is willing to sacrifice everything," said Lee, whose last drama performance was in "Here Comes Jang Bo Ri."

The drama is based on the webtoon of the same name and will be directed by Song Hyun Wook. Sung previously directed "Marriage, Not Dating."

Song described the drama as not being so much a medical drama but rather one about healing, as that is the occupation of both main characters. They both heal other people and they need to heal what went wrong with their relationship a decade ago.

"Han Yeol is a rehabilitation coach and Cha Mi Rae is a doctor," said Song. "Just like they both heal people, I hope the drama heals viewers' hearts and gives them hope." "Super Daddy Yeol" begins on March 13.
