Actor-comedian Will Ferrell is hoping that his acting career is over as the renowned baseball fan played shortstop for the Oakland A's.
The comedian-actor-producer and writer rose to popularity in the mid-1990s as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live." Ferrell has also starred in numerous comedy films such as "Old School," "Elf," "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," " Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" and "The Lego Movie," to name a few.
On Thursday, March 12, he also got an opportunity to be a player for more than one team.
Before taking the field, the actor told TV personality Mike "Mad Dog" Russo that he actually hopes that the acting career is over and expressed his feeling that he is going to land with one of the clubs. Ferrell jokingly noted that these teams need a clubhouse presence and explained that by presence he meant was a 47-year-old flabby guy who does not know how to play.
According to ABCNews, the actor said, "But I have life experiences, and I'm willing to do what it takes to get the job done," he added that he hopes to land a spot on the roster.
