Good news gaming fans as new updates for Square Enix's action-RPG crossover, "Kingdom Hearts 3" have been revealed regarding its release date and game details.
According to Cyberland, the release date of "Kingdom Hearts" is said to be on February 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles as more game details will be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 on June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA.
"It can now be confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be available by February of next year. You guys can expect gameplay trailers and cinematic trailers at E3," Cyberland said.
To add further support to the claim, Gaming Bolt has reported that Square Enix will announce several details for their upcoming JPRPG this year.
Japanese publication Nikkei conducted an interview with Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda regarding the announcement.
“At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we’ve already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year,” Matsuda told Nikkei.
Matsuda further adds that they will showcase some possible titles at E3 2015.
“I can’t say much for now, but it’s a JRPG for consoles,” Matsuda said. “Also, our western studios have the latest Tomb Raider title with Rise of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, and many other titles that I believe we can have high expectations of. For now, we’re preparing all kinds of things for E3.”
Siliconera also reports that Square Enix will show up at Tokyo Game Show 2015. Many have speculated that Square Enix might showcase new details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" at these said events and so far the company kept mum about the topic.
There are also rumors making rounds over the internet that new worlds for "Kingdom Hearts 3" have been leaked online.
According to the KH1, several new worlds from different Disney movies are speculated to be part of "Kingdom Hearts 3" such as "Aladdin", "Alice in Wonderland", "Peter Pan", "Snow White", "Wreck It Ralph", "Frozen", "Lilo and Stitch", "Star Wars", "Tron" and "Tangled". KH1 reportedly claimed that they got the list from Go For Launch Productions.
"Go For Launch Productions, in association with CgMations in Ireland, designed numerous characters and sets for Disney's new Kingdom Hearts game. The concept was simple; bring the beloved Kingdom Hearts' characters into the iconic worlds of Disney. The characters of Wreck It Ralph, Frozen, Lilo and Stitch, Star Wars, Tron, Tangled and more, were all to do battle with the Kingdom Hearts heroes against epic foes! On this project we re-imagined the classic Disney worlds as game play battle arenas and worked with the game designers to create fun and challenging game play scenarios," KH1 wrote.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" co-producer Tai Yasue mentioned before the possibility of having Star Wars as well as Marvel characters and worlds in "Kingdom Hearts 3". Perhaps this could mean that Square Enix will live up to that promise for the fans.
“Well, yeah. They’re all under consideration,” Yasue said. “Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds. There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose."
