Minecraft takes the top spot on Octly and Newzoo's monthly chart tracking the top 20 franchise on video-sharing website, YouTube.
According to an analysis of the YouTube viewing behavior in February's YouTube Top 20, 97.5 % of the views were generated through gaming videos. The report also showed that the popular game Minecraft outpaced its closest competitor by a ratio of 4 to 1.
TubeFilter noted that numerous top channels on video streaming online service, YouTube feature video games and some recently-released data revealed which games those channels play most often. YouTube brand marketers, Octoly partnered up with market research company Newzoo for an up-to-the-minute list of the Top 20 Game Franchise on YouTube.
According to aggregated data provided by Newzoo and Octoly, 'Minecraft' themed videos cracked up a staggering 4,310 million views in Feb. 2015. During Feb. 2015, when Octoly amassed the data for its latest game franchise ranking, Minecraft added 4.3 billion more views to its total, which needless to say, was more than the next five games on the list combined.
According to GamesIndustry, the latest research by Newzoo and Octoly, as well as the orders of things has not changed much from Jan. findings. Grand Theft Auto with total views of 1,084m is the second closest series on the list.
That said, Minecraft, GTA along with the rest of the list saw significant increase in total views compared to Jan., nearly doubling from 5.85bn to 10.77bn. Where "Minecraft" accounts for forty percent of YouTube's Top 20, GTA takes up a ten percent share; not too far behind it are the "Five Nights at Freddy's" games with 954m, nine percent.

Newzoo noted a general lack of pure mobile titles among the top 20 game franchises on YouTube, with "Clash of Titans" and "Angry Birds" getting the most attention. On the other hand, Five Nights at Freddy's views were not just mobile but multiple platforms.
Newzoo took the opportunity to question the impact of mobile marker on YouTube.
Octoly, each month searches its database comprising of millions of video game related YouTube videos created by video game publishers as well as their fans in order to create a top 20 ranking of game titles. The company track more than 17m videos on more than 4m YouTube channels about games.
