It looks like Microsoft has announced the release date of its new software, Windows 10, along with its new features and updates.
According to the Fuse Joplin, Microsoft is planning to launch Windows 10 in the summer of 2015, while another report from TechRadar claimed that Windows 10 will be released as early as June 2015.
Microsoft's representative Gabe Au has announced via Twitter that Microsoft developed a new and much-revised version of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, which is currently in the beta test period, pending its release to the public as Aul’s announcement came only a few days following signs that Microsoft had come across a significant glitch in the program.
ZDNet reports that executive Vice President Terry Meyerson stated that they will also hand out free Windows 10 upgrades to all customers, even those running pirated versions of Windows.
"We are upgrading all qualified PCs, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10," Meyerson said.
However, Microsoft issued a new statement regarding the upgrades for non-genuine PCs.
"We have always been committed to ensuring that customers have the best Windows experience possible. With Windows 10, although non-Genuine PCs may be able to upgrade to Windows 10, the upgrade will not change the genuine state of the license. Non-Genuine Windows is not published by Microsoft. It is not properly licensed, or supported by Microsoft or a trusted partner. If a device was considered non-genuine or mislicensed prior to the upgrade, that device will continue to be considered non-genuine or mislicensed after the upgrade," Microsoft wrote.
Microsoft further adds, "According to industry experts, use of pirated software, including Non-Genuine Windows, results in a higher risk of malware, fraud (identity theft, credit card theft, etc), public exposure of your personal information, and a higher risk for poor performance or feature malfunctions."
So what are the features that are present in Windows 10?
According to to PC Pro, the new features for Windows 10 includes Cortana, new Spartan browser, Continuum, Xbox integration, DirectX 12 and Windows Holographic.
The Fuse Joplin further adds that Native versions of Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar will be replaced by a feature-light editions from Windows 10 that are currently available to customers via Windows 8.1.
There is also an updated Windows Store as Microsoft plans to distinguish its online stores into separate areas for apps and for entertainment. The apps appear in the Windows Store, while the music and videos appear in a separate category. Microsoft has also unveiled a new and updated edition of its music player which now includes support for OneDrive cloud storage.
Finally, Microsoft will not add the Internet Explorer in Windows 10 which will be replace by the Spartan Internet browser.
