Many Pacquiao's coach Freddie Roach is confident that the Filipino fighter will beat Floyd Mayweather.
"Manny is on fire in the gym, I am confident May will be celebrated for years to come as St. Manny's Day - the day he drove Mayweather out of boxing!" said Roach according to the report of GMA News.
Furthermore, Floyd Mayweather Sr. has responded to Freddie Roach barbs by saying that Pacman will be knocked out on the upcoming fight.
The Telegraph reported that Mayweather Sr. said that Pacquiao will be knocked out on May 2, the same he had experienced with Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012.
"Of course, any time somebody's been knocked ice cold like that, man, of course they can get knocked out again - quick, fast and in a hurry," said Mayweather Sr.
Moreover, promoter Bob Arum has weighed in on whether the of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will make a significant difference in the fight.
He said that both fighters have both aged, "but they have aged at the same pace", and added: "Floyd is a great defensive fighter with a great right hand, Manny is a combination puncher who throws the left hand from lots of angles."
Meanwhile, as the two parties are getting ready for the upcoming fight that will be held at MGM Grand Las Vegas on May 2, Manny Pacquiao will reportedly train with two new sparring mates.
According to a GMA News, the two new sparring partners have arrived on March 18 to help Pacquiao on his training. However, Pacman's team has requested to keep the identities of his two new sparring mates.
Recently it was reported that unbeaten world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux will join the camp of Manny Pacquiao as a sparmate, but Roach denied the said report.
Floyd Mayweather is still unbeaten in 47 profession fights, while Manny Pacquiao has 57 wins and five losses.
