After several rumors that the "Stalker" series has been cancelled, Maggie Q has finally confirmed that fans will still get to see the remaining unaired episodes in season 1. This is, however, not a confirmation that the series had been renewed for a season 2.
It was previously reported that CBS has cancelled "Stalker" because of its low ratings. Despite its promising synopsis, it was rumored that the series would be axed even before it airs the pilot season finale.
Slamming the rumors, "Divergent" actress Maggie Q, who plays Lt. Beth Davis in the series, revealed that "Stalker" is not cancelled and will be back soon.
"That's a wrap on Season 1! We are back on the air at the end of the month! Thank you so much for your support!" she tweeted.
Rumors of the cancellation first emerged when CBS decided to give "CSI: Cyber" the Wednesday slot originally for "Stalker." After airing 17 episodes on season 1, the network took the thriller series off the air. It's still unsure when fans will get to see the remaining episodes since CBS has yet to release the final schedule.
Reports claim that even if the future of the show is still on hold, the production of the remaining episodes is still ongoing and the cast members were still in high spirits.
According to TV Series Finale, Maggie Q's tweet was not an indication that the series has been renewed. The website claimed that there's a possibility that "Stalker" would still be cancelled because of its "disappointing" ratings. Based on reports, "CSI:Cyber" was doing "much better" in the same timeslot.
The cop thriller drama series "Stalker" tells the story of LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit's work, a group of people investigating stalking cases. The series stars Mariana Klaveno, Victor Rasuk, Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott.
"Stalker" premiered on Oct. 1, 2014 at CBS.
