Apple TV Fourth Generation And Roku 4 Slated To Land This Summer As Prices For The 3rd Versions Of Both Devices Dropped Significantly!

Looks like a good news for the video-streaming market as two new versions of Roku and Apple TV are slated to land in a few months.

Tech giant, Apple is set to unveil another Apple television box at its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) middle this year.

According to a report from Buzzfeed, the device will reportedly debut in June. For a long time, Apple has defined TV as an area of intense interest, calling current TV experience as out-of-date and hinted plans to evolve it. Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue went as far as saying that the present TV experience is really bad at the Code Conference last year.

Empire State Tribune noted that Apple television right now has applications which are naturally added to the gadget. The remake however would convey an Application Store to the Apple television, just like the Application Store on iOS gadgets like the iPad and iPhone.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the subscription internet TV service, the tech giant has been trying to get started since 2009 seems to be finally headed to market.

Sources familiar with Apple's plans tell BuzzFeed News that a replacement to the company's recently discounted Apple TV set top box is is coming to the market as well. Along with the long-awaited App Store and a software development kit to help developers populate it, Apple will reportedly show the device off in June at its annual World Wide Developers Conference.

Apple is not the only company that has big plans for its users, The Fuse Joplin noted that Roku users will enjoy watching 4K UltraHD picture quality video on their flat screen TVs and they will stream content from Netflix, one of the most popular channels.

Roku 4's release was delayed for this summer; however the company didn't reveal the reasons. That said, many are speculating that Roku is keeping an eye on Apple's move and will come with the new device right after Apple takes the final step.

The Apple TV on the other hand was slated to launch in March, but Apple did not reach a common point with other cable companies and as a result, the release was postponed for this summer.

On March 9, Apple revealed that Apple TV will receive a major price cut from $99 to $69 and also confirmed that it's engaged in a partnership with HBO, which will now bring the HBO Now streaming service to Apple TV next month, Venture Beat reported.

The third version of Roku's price too dropped significantly from $100 to $79.
