Serena Williams gushed about her friendship with Caroline Wozniacki, but continued to be mum about rumored boyfriend, coach Patrick Mouratoglou.
"It's hard and lonely at the top. That's why it's so fun to have Caroline and my sister, too. You're a target when you're number one. Everyone wants to beat you. Everyone talks behind your back, and you get a lot more criticism. God forbid I lose," she told Vogue.
While Serena Williams did not talk about rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou, she did talk about wanting a family and children of her own someday.
"I guess," she said. "I'm not even looking for it."
Part of her problem, she admitted, is that she's "really shy."
"On the court, I am fierce! I am mean and I am tough. I am completely opposite off the court. My confidence just isn't the same. I wish I was more like I am on the court. Nobody would know that I am constantly crying or complaining," she added.
Dating rumors have been hounding Serena Williams and her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, although the two have constantly denied it.
During the Twitter exhange with fans, as published on Huffington Post, the athlete was asked if she's single.
To which, she replied, "Not by choice."
After her sixth US Open title, said the Tennis-X website, the athlete addressed all those Serena William's boyfriend news and rumors in her Twitter account.
"To answer all your questions I'm single and I have been single so the speculations can stop," she wrote.
But in a report from Page Six, the Serena Williams boyfriend rumors were seemingly confirmed by former tennis star Maria Sharapova who lashed back after the champion described her as boring.
"Maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids," Sharapova said.
