Good news gaming fans as new updates for "Persona 5" have been revealed regarding new gameplay, plot and possible release date announcement.
Gematsu has reported that Atlus discussed several new details for "Persona 5's" story and gameplay details in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu.
According to Gematasu, "Persona 5's" setting is somewhere in Shibuya as those who are familiar with the first teaser of game will noticed the rendered kanji on the sign during the subway station scene. It said that the atmosphere "Persona 5" will feature elements and feelings of the big city life, such packed train platforms full of commuters, busy streets and possible an exciting night life.
Gematsu further adds that the Protagonist in the game gained his persona Arsene after "a certain incident unfolds and confronts a great darkness enveloping the city." He and his friends attend a private school called Shujin Academy, and along the way they meet a cat like creature that transforms and acts like a human being.
There are also new gameplay details present in "Persona 5" as Gematsu explained that importance of the "Awakening". The Awakening theorized the awakening of characters Persona that engulfs them in blue flames similar to Protagonist in the trailer.
It allows them reveal another side of him/herself which is greatly different from his/her public demeanor. The blue flames are believed to turn into the masks that the characters wear in the game.
The characters wear their masks during dungeon missions, and they are said to be key items in the course of the story. Gematsu previously reported that a new social link called "Cooperation" will act as a buddy system in the game, and "Sneak" allows players to utilize stealth in certain situations. Returning game features includes "Lesson" and "All-Out-Attack" are still present.
The official Japanese website of "Persona 5" further featured more powerful magic attacks and players can explore their surroundings through rooftops.
The game's director Katsura Hashino has shared his goals in making "Persona 5" during an interview with Venture Capital Post.
"One of the goals in making 'Persona 5', then, is to give those people an outlet to explore those thrills and experience that sense of freedom that the protagonists themselves have within the context of a game. Although that being said, I won't deny that a lot of us were also just way into stories about good-natured thieves like Lupin III growing up, too," Hashino said.
Crossmaps reportedly claimed that "Persona 5" will launch in Spring 2015 for the PS3 and PS4 consoles, while Product Review.net said that Atlus will announce more details for "Persona 5" at E3 2015.
