Looks like a good news for Microsoft as the tech giant released to testers a new Windows 10 Desktop preview along with Project Spartan on Monday, March 30.

Microsoft launched a new Windows 10 preview for PCs. The release included Project Spartan, Microsoft's new browser shipping on all Windows 10 devices including smartphones, tablets, PCs along with others.

Microsoft described Spartan as a browser that is made for easy reading, discovery, sharing as well as getting things done online, VentureBeat noted.

The tech giant stated that Project Spartan's latest design puts the focus on the page, not the browser. Just like every browser maker to date, Microsoft affirms its software does not virtually interfere with customer's life on the web, instead supports it.

Check out the features available (Microsoft warns they are in an incomplete and early stage)

Cortana (United States only in this build)

The personal assistant facilitates browsing by helping users with whatever they are looking to get done, based on what she knows about them, what they might be trying to do and what she knows about the web. Although Cortana remains in the background, it provides additional information when needed.

Linking And Sharing

Now users can write or type directly on the page, comment on what's interesting, and also clip whatever they want. Users can then share this "Web Note" via email, a social network, or save it to OneNote.

Reading List And Reading View

Users can now collect everything they want to read, including the ability to save any PDF or webpage for a time-saving access later and then read it in a view that keeps them focused on the content.

A New Engine

Project Spartan's new Edge rendering engine is developed around the concept that the Web "just works," while being fast, more secure as well as more reliable. It was revealed last week; Edge is exclusive to Spartan, while IE will just remain for legacy purposes.

The latest update takes the Windows 10 build no. from 10041 (released on March 18) to build 10049 (released on March 30).

According to ZDNet, the tech giant made available to its Windows Insiders testers, the first Windows 10 Desktop test build that incorporates its new "Project Spartan" browser. This marks the second Windows 10 Desktop preview Microsoft has made available to testers this month, and the fourth Windows 10 Desktop build the company has released as of Oct. 1, 2014.

Although Spartan is not yet feature complete at this point, the first preview encompasses most of the functionality that Microsoft execs showed off on Jan. 21 during an early demo of Spartan as part of a Windows 10 press event.
