According to "Days of Our Lives" spoilers from Celeb Dirty Laundry, James Lastovic will play a "16-year-old gorgeous Caucasian male who struggles with resentment and abandonment issues."
Latovic's agency made the exciting announcement on their Facebook page, "Ecstatic for James Lastovic who just got a two year contract with NBC's, Days of Our Lives!!! He will be playing the role of Joey Johnson. Huge Congratulations and proud hearts go out to James and his family who have been working on his craft since 2010 when he started at our Mission Valley studio. Big things in store!"
Lastovic might be a bit older than his character, but "DOOL" producers believed that he could definitely pull it off.
James Lastovic's character Joey Johnson is the son of Patch (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). It has recently been reported that Nichols agreed to return to "Days of Our Lives" to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary. Spoilers revealed that Joey will be the reason why Patch agreed to go back to Salem.
The website reported that fans of "DOOL" will first get a glimpse of Joey in August.
James Lastovic recently played Wesley in "The Talking Pony!?!" He also has a role in the upcoming TV mini-series "Musical Concerge" premiering on April 7.
Meanwhile, some viewers also observed the lack of diversity in the daytime series. Because of this, the executive producers of "Days of Our Lives" recently held a casting call for a new character named "Lani" who is a "stunning, strong and savvy" African-American woman in her late 20s to early 30s. Once they find the perfect fit, "Lani" will start shooding in mid-April.
