Jamie Oliver is putting a stop to the word war with Gordon Ramsay out of respect for the children of the "Hell's Kitchen" host.
In an interview with Australian news service, AAP, during the launch of his Ministry of Food cookery school in Sydney, Jamie Oliver said that he's more careful of what he says about Gordon Ramsay.
'To be honest, I'm annoyed that I said anything because I did bite for a few years and it felt quite good but I don't think it's very responsible of me to take the p*** again because I don't want his kids to get upset because I'm slagging off their dad," he said.
But the celebrity chef and restaurateur couldn't help but dish a few digs about the "Hell's Kitchen" host.
"He's just a ranter, he's paid to rant. He's paid to shower negativity and all his proteges don't talk to him because he's like that and it's a shame," he added. "I got on with him once but he decided to slag me off at every opportunity. It's kind of friendly banter, it's no big deal but you never know: we might be friends again some time."
In an interview at the Sydney Opera House, Jamie Oliver earlier told reporters that Gordon Ramsay is envious of what he has achieved.
According to the Forbes' list of richest chefs in the world, Jamie Oliver is worth about $235 million. Gordon Ramsay, meanwhile, is worth about $ 118 million.
However, even if they combined their assets, they still couldn't match the top chef on the list, Alan Wong, who has a net worth of around $1.1 billion.
"Gordon will do anything to try and take the p*** out of me because he is deeply jealous and can't quite work out why I do what I do and why he can't do that," Jamie Oliver said, reigniting his feud with Gordon Ramsay.
"He is too busy shouting and screaming and making our industry look like a bunch of shouters and screamers," the celebrity chef added.
