Fans of Disney's "High School Musical" sure got excited upon hearing rumors about a fourth installment. Unfortunately, Zac Efron, who played hunk Troy Bolton in the hit musical, scoffed at the idea of "High School Musical 4" and called it "ridiculous" and "lame."
Many fans were ecstatic upon hearing rumors that HSM Sweethearts Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) will be returning on the big screen. A source from Radar Online revealed that Zac Efron is ready to come back as Troy in "High School Musical 4," the movie that made him famous.
Because of this exciting news, many fans started to speculate on what could possibly happen in the next movie.
To the disappointment of several "High School Musical" fans, Gossip Cop countered the reports and said there are still really no talks on Zac Efron's side about his comeback on "High School Musical 4."
"Nope. Not even a little bit true. Efron is fine, he’s been fine for a while, and he is not preparing for any kind of High School Musical sequel. It’s all in RadarOnline’s imagination," the website claimed.
It was even said that the rumor reached Zac and that the "Neighbors" star and he found it "ridiculous" and "lame"
The alleged statement came as a surprise to many since just in 2013, Zac Efron discussed the probability of a "High School Musical 4."
“I can’t say for sure if it will happen but deep down in my heart, I would jump at the chance," he said.
For the meantime, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron's HSM co-star and ex-lover, opens up on NY Times about her relationship with the actor.
"I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up," Hudgens said.
She revealed that she even gave "death stares" to girls who were running after Zac, but she then realized that she should be nice towards these ladies as they are the ones who supported their love team.
