Good news, Marvel fans as new updates for the new Spider-Man film has been revealed regarding a rumored actor playing Peter Parker, and Sony's plan to have a new cinematic universe for the web-slinger.
Badass Digest reports that Marvel Studios has been looking for 16 -17 year-old male actors that will play the part of Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man film.
Marvel Studios has held "secret auditions" outside their offices, and that "Hostages" star Mateus Ward has tried out for the role although it is not yet confirmed whether Ward has met their standards, Badass Digest adds.
Screenrant previously reported that Marvel CCO Joe Quesada confirmed that a teenage Peter Parker will be present in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place," Quesada wrote in Tumblr.
The Christian Post quoted, "Marvel is definitely sticking to casting a teenager now, which is what Peter Parker really is. Actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were grown men who played teenaged boys, and Marvel isn't going down this road anymore. The company wants a young face who will grow with the movie, someone who won't be in their 30s when the series is in its third or fourth installment."
Zac Efron, Logan Lerman, Dylan O'Brian, Donald Glover, Sam Strike and Freddie Highmore are among the many actors rumored to play the web-slinger in the new movie.
In other news, Screenrant has reported that Sony is planning to develop a universe for their own Spider-Man films dubbed the "Spider-Man Cinematic Universe"
"A multiverse franchise model allows for room to offer many variations on the character – essentially rebooting Spider-Man with each new universe that’s introduced. Sony Chairperson Amy Pascal intends to leave the Spider-Man multiverse as her legacy, following her impending departure in May 2015. Pascal confirmed in a press release that all of the previous Spider-Man movies will also be retroactively incorporated into the multiverse," Screenrant wrote.
Screenrant further adds that the Spider-Man Cinematic Universe might breakdown to several versions which includes the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, the Marc Webb Spidey reboot, Miguel O' Hara, Miles Morales and many more.
