It looks like new updates for Bryan Singer's next X-Men film, "X-Men: Apocalypse" have been revealed regarding a new cast member, a new female character and Hugh Jackman's status in the film franchise.
According to Nerd Reactor, TheWrap reporter Jeff Sneider reportedly claimed that "EastEnder" star Ben Hardy will be playing Warren Worthington III a.k.a. Angel in the "X-Men: Apocalypse" movie.
X-Men director Bryan Singer previously posted a photo on his Instagram account showing a new concept art for the film featuring Angel.
ComicBook.com username "BANEofExistence also claimed that Hardy's character could possibly turn into Archangel, one of Apocalypse's Horsemen along with Wolverine, Beast and Gambit, KpopStarz reports.
Aside from Angel, Cinemablend also reported that the mutant ninja Betsy Braddock a.k.a. Psylocke will also join the ranks of the X-Men. Sneider described her as the latest "B-team mutant" in the movie during an interview with Meet The Movie Press.
Psylocke first appeared in "X-Men: The Last Stand" as part of the mutant faction called OMEGA along with Kid Omega, Arclight and Callisto as well as joining Magneto's Brotherhood army.
In other news, rumors have been making rounds that Hugh Jackman will be leaving the X-Men film franchise after "Wolverine 3".
It all started with Jackman posting a photo in his Instagram that sees both his hands closed, and three of his claws popped out of his right hand with a captions, " WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ," TheWrap reports.
With that being said, could this mean that Wolverine will heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The "X-Men" star has been vocal about joining the Avengers now that Marvel has obtained the rights of Spider-Man in an interview with MTV.
“I like to think there’s that possibility for all of it, and I would even like to think more that it doesn’t happen out of necessity, y’know, when someone’s run it into the ground or something", Jackman told MTV. "I optimistically love the idea of “What the hell, Batman versus Iron Man versus Wolverine!” Let’s just chuck ‘em in."
Jackman further adds,"We’ll see what happens, but maybe as these things go on more and more they’ll want to and need to do all that stuff. I’m optimistic, I’d think it’d be great, but hey, it’s not my billions of dollars behind this promise. [laughs] It’s easy for us to speculate, 'Why did they do that?!'”
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be shown in theatres on May 27, 2016.
