US carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly updating the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop, writes Phone Arena.
The carrier was quoted as saying that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has started to roll out on April 2 and requires up to 1.7 GB of reserved memory.
"This version brings Android beyond smartphones and tablets, allowing access to apps and Android on other connected screens like TV's cars and wearables," Verizon Wireless wrote on its website.
"The new material design offers complete animations and 3-D views, 64-bit ABI support and improved run time."
The update includes activating VoLTE and making Advanced Dialer 1.0 part of the Note 4's dialing system. It also brings S Health widgets with plus fast motion and slow motion camera modes.
As for the lock screen and notifications, the carrier wrote that the material design-inspired notifications have been implemented and that the ability to set priority and privacy for notifications on the lock screen has been enhanced. The floating action button has also been added to various applications to promote a specific action, like adding a new contact, event or composing a new message.
Also, the Recording Mode has been removed from Settings while on the World Clock the Search option has been simplified. GSM Arena adds that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update rollout will continue in more countries over the next days or weeks.
As of April 2, the update is available in the Baltic region, Brazil, India and UAE. The OTA update weighs about 1GB and the site suggests that a user must have at least 3GB, just in case.
The update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop will feature the latest version of TouchWiz UI and is expected to boost the device's performance and memory speed, as well as its battery life longevity.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is available to purchase at $699 off contract and $299 on contract.
