Good news gaming fans, new updates for "Kingdom Hearts 3" have been revealed regarding new game details and Disney worlds.
According to the Franchise Herald, Square Enix has delayed "Kingdom Hearts 3's" launch date due to co-director Tai Yasue's decision to incorporate Unreal Engine 4 in the game.
"The technology is moving forward a lot," Yasue said. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."
Yasue further revealed his reasons why Square Enix decided to change Luminous to Unreal Engine 4.
"There was nothing wrong with the Luminous engine at all," Yasue said. "We decided that Unreal 4 was right for us. There was a huge network of people actually using it, we were communicating with the Japanese people at Epic a lot - it was like a complete product."
Eurogamer has reported that gaming fans should not be too worried about "Kingdom Hearts 3's" launch date as "the switch has been seamless, and development on the game is progressing smoothly."
Aside from the game's software change, Square Enix is planning to reveal new game details and a possible release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" at the 2015 D23 Expo on n Aug.14–16, 2015 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, Franchise Herald reports.
Gaming Bolt previously reported that Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda will unveil new details for their JRPG titles this year.
"At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we’ve already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year,” Matsuda told Japanese publication Nikkei.
It is also worth mentioning that Cyberland reportedly claimed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will launch on Feb. 2016, and Square Enix will also showcase a new gameplay trailer in E3 2015 on June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA.
"It can now be confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be available by February of next year. You guys can expect gameplay trailers and cinematic trailers at E3," Cyberland wrote.
KH1 has also revealed new Disney worlds for "Kingdom Hearts 3" such as "Aladdin", "Alice in Wonderland", "Peter Pan", "Snow White", "Wreck It Ralph", "Frozen", "Lilo and Stitch", "Star Wars", "Tron" and "Tangled".
Yasue mentioned before that Square Enix might consider Star Wars and Marvel characters, and worlds in "Kingdom Hearts 3".
“Well, yeah. They’re all under consideration,” Yasue said. “Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds. There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose."
