Bad news for the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, because despite his suspension, Brock Lesnar still has his title rematch clause.
UFC Heavyweight Champion and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, had his title taken away from him at the thirty-first annual WrestleMania professional wrestling PPV (pay-per-view), WrestleMania 31.
The "Beast" was pushed to the limits by Roman Reigns when Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, made a shocking entry and cashed in, according to SciFighting.
Rollins can initiate a match against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion anywhere, any place, anytime. In Lesnar's case, it was in the WrestleMania 31 main event at the sold out Levi's Stadium. The "Architect" Rollins used his finishing maneuver, the curb stomp, in order to take Lesnar off the ring and the match. He then used the same finishing move to beat Roman Reigns to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
The following night on WWE Raw, as expected, Brock invoked his championship clause and Seth Rollins agreed. Rollins had a change of heart and cited "jet-lag" for his sub-performance as a champion.
This reportedly did not sit well with Brock, who not only destroyed Rollins' J&J Security but also sent John "Bradshaw" Layfield and Booker T both to the hospital. If that was not enough, he then used his finishing maneuver, the F5, to Michael Cole and two camera guys, forcing Stephanie McMahon to come out and suspend the former WWE champ indefinitely.
SciFighting also noted that this was to write Brock off of TV for now. Reportedly, Brock signed a contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment over a return to the UFC. If this report is anything to go by, Brock will be on television a few times for months at a time, so that WWE can use its biggest draw when they need him the most.
Brock, along with Paul Heyman, his manager, is reported to return building up to Summerslam.
WrestleZone cites Scott Stanford's announcement on the Raw pre-show to reveal that despite his suspension, Brock still has his title rematch clause. Although Brock can't invoke the clause while he is suspended, he can use the rematch clause as soon as the suspension is lifted.
Brock has been a key figure in the last three Summerslams. He dismantled John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight title in 2014 and then took out CM Punk the year before. Brock broke Triple H's arm in the wake of a long feud with the WWE COO the year prior.
