Instagram has added a new set of photo editing tools for Android users, while those using iOS will reportedly "soon" experience the said features.
In a blog post, Instagram wrote that the new creative tools are color and fade.
"Use the Color to tint the highlights or shadows in your photo. You can choose from yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan or green to add a colorful flair to the moments you share. The fade tool allows you to bring a quiet tone to your photos by softening colors," it said.
Tech Crunch also reported that the photo-sharing app has not only added new tools, but Post Notifications, as well, which will be available for iOS and Android users. Post Notifications allows the user to receive alerts from their favorite accounts when these post new updates.
The publication added that Post Notification is a great feature that can be used for the Apple Watch, which users can directly receive on their wrists when a family member posts a new pic without even checking their smartphone.
Moreover, the app last year also released five filters, which are available until now. The filters are Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua. These can help soften and shift colors to achieve the look and feel that the user wants for the photo. Instagram also added a "Manage" button at the end of the filter tray, which lets users re-arrange the filters and hide the ones that are seldom used.
Instagram for Android version 6.19.0 is now available on Google Play, while the update for the iOS version 6.10.0 will reportedly be available in the App Store in a "few days."
